CFSA sliding wardrobe can provide generous storage without hinged doors opening into the room. That makes it especially useful in bedrooms where the gap between the bed and wardrobe is limited. However, the external width is only one part of choosing the right model. Door access, internal layout, ceiling height and the delivery route all affect whether a wardrobe will work in practice.
Use these ten checks before comparing sliding wardrobes.
Measure the wall at floor, middle and ceiling height. Older walls are not always perfectly straight, and skirting boards can reduce the usable depth. Record the narrowest measurement and compare it with the complete product dimensions rather than the door width alone.
Check the position of sockets, switches, radiators and window ledges. Leave enough space for curtains to hang freely and for air to circulate around a nearby radiator.
Sliding doors do not swing into the room, but you still need comfortable standing space in front of them. Mark the wardrobe footprint with masking tape and check that you can open drawers, make the bed and move around the room without squeezing through a narrow route.
Do not assume that a wardrobe will fit simply because its listed height is lower than the ceiling. Assembly may require additional clearance to raise panels or position the top section. Sloping ceilings, coving and pendant lights can also restrict installation.
Think about what you actually need to store. Long coats and dresses require full-height hanging space, while shirts and trousers may work better with two rails. Shelves suit knitwear, boxes and bags. Drawers can reduce the need for a separate chest of drawers.
Compare the internal layout of each model. Two wardrobes with the same external dimensions can provide very different usable storage.
A two-door wardrobe normally allows access to one section at a time. A wider three-door design may divide storage more flexibly, but the way its doors overlap still determines which areas can be reached together. Look closely at the product diagram and internal photographs.
Mirrored doors can reflect light, provide a full-length dressing mirror and remove the need for a separate wall mirror. They also show fingerprints more readily than plain panels. Consider how often the surface will be touched and whether the wardrobe faces a useful view rather than reflecting clutter.
Choose a finish that works with the bed, bedside storage and flooring already in the room. Matt finishes tend to disguise marks, while gloss and mirrored surfaces need more frequent wiping. Always follow the care instructions for the specific material and avoid assuming that every wood-effect panel requires the same cleaning method.
Measure the front door, hallways, stair turns and bedroom doorway. Note low ceilings, tight landings and bannisters. Product dimensions describe the assembled wardrobe, so check the packaging and assembly information when access is restricted.
Large wardrobes often need to be assembled in the room where they will be used. Check whether assembly is included, available separately or left to the customer. Make sure the floor is level before installation; an uneven base can affect door alignment and smooth running.
Confirm the full width, height and depth, the internal configuration, handle style, colour description and included fittings on the individual product page. Images are useful for style, but the written dimensions and specifications should guide the final decision.
They can be a practical choice because their doors do not swing into the room. The wardrobe still needs sufficient standing space in front, a suitable delivery route and enough ceiling clearance for assembly.
There is no single depth that suits every design. Check the product’s external and internal measurements, particularly when full-size hangers need to sit behind the doors without catching.
Mirrored doors provide a dressing mirror and can reflect useful light. Plain doors may require less frequent cleaning. Choose according to the room, daily routine and care you are comfortable with.
A well-chosen sliding wardrobe should improve storage without making the bedroom harder to use. Measure first, compare the internal layout and keep the whole room in mind before ordering.
